FAQ

Cost Clarification

1.) Club Registration Fee (non-refundable): $50.  All athletes are required to register for club to allow participation in open gyms, clinics, and other club sanctioned events. This will be credited to the Team Fees. Due to previous circumstances, all athletes will be required to pay the minimum team fee to participate at Tryouts unless given special approval by parent request to the Director.

2.) Team Fees: Dependent on team. When registering for club, designate which team you would like to tryout for. If you are not trying out for a specific team, but want to participate in club events only (non-tournaments), then select your standard club team by division (12/14/16/18U). Select Pay Offline to avoid online team fees.

3.) Fundraising: All teams may fundraise to lower personal costs. However, there are extra fundraising opportunities only for national teams wanting to travel out of State for major competitions such as Vegas, Reno, and Phoenix trips.

All club members can fundraise on their own by seeking donations to play from friends, family and other businesses. However, we are not a 501c organization. Formal donations are probably limited. The best option is to find someone to personally help fund the athlete. If a group/person wants a receipt for verification of intent, they may right the check to MT NW VBC, and we will provide a receipt, and then credit the athlete's account.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1.  Does the fee include registration for AAU and/or USAV? No, athletes must register themselves for AAU  and USAV Memberships. USAV memberships will be required AFTER teams are selected as we will use AAU membership for tryouts.

2.  Does the fee include uniforms? Yes. Jersey top only.  Warmups and other club apparel not included. Jerseys must be returned at the end of the season.

3.  How many tournaments are scheduled?  This depends on which team an athlete makes, but typically 4-6 tournaments are scheduled.

4.  Will there be any home tournaments? Yes. The budget is for 2-3 travel (outside Valley) and 2 home (Kalispell and C-Falls) tournaments.

5.  Will athletes have an opportunity to play in any USAV tournaments? Yes, if you can commit to the Regional, National or Elite Teams.

6.  How many practices will there be per week and at what locations? Generally, there are 2 practices per week. Depending on the week and season, they may be held at local middle and high schools.

7.   What is the coaching experience of the coaches? Most of the coaches have played volleyball themselves at a bare minimum. Several have also coached previously, but it depends on your coach. Please see the coaches tab for more info.

8.  Is your club open to students of all schools? Yes. Montana Northwest Volleyball Club is open to any student-athlete. This includes girls AND boys.

9.  Do you offer a multi-player discount? Depends how many girls are in need of a scholarship/discount. The budget is already tight, but finances should not deter participation. We do our best to provide the following family dicounts: 20% off 2nd child, 30% off 3rd child, etc.

10. Do you have other social media outlets with current information?  Yes, we have Facebook and Instagram pages; search  @mt.nw.volleyballclub (Montana Northwest Volleyball Club). You can also reach us at email: mt.nw.vbclub@gmail.com

11.  How many teams will you offer per age division?  How many players/team? Teams depend on how many come to Tryouts. Each team will consist of 8-9 athletes, hoping to always have at least two teams per age group.

12. How can we best communicate with you? Please download the SportsEngine app, your coaches will message you with up to date information. If you need any other assistances, contact the club director at 907.227.4264

13. Who is a club member? Athletes who register for the upcoming season are club members and can participate in Open Gyms/Clinics for free unless stated otherwise. These club members will have the registration fee credited to their Team fees if they pursue and make a Club Team in the winter. Club Membership is from Sept 1 through Aug 31 of each season. These dates coincide with our Club Insurances: AAU and USAV.
